The health care
industry leads all other industry in nonfatal
workplace injuries. 48% of all non fatal injuries from
violent acts against workers occur in health care industry.
Since 1980, violence has been the leading cause of death
for women in the workplace. In California, over 225,000
women are employed in the health care industry, and this
does not include registered nurses.
